On top of all the rehearsals, photo sessions and elaborate costumes, another fun aspect of recital season is putting your makeup skills to use! Recital makeup is always over the top and glamorous, but in addition to all of this, it always helps for your recital makeup to be both vibrant and durable in order to stand up against long performance hours and those bright (and hot) stage lights. “Serving Face!”
Foundation, Concealer and Powder Favorites

Alright let’s start with face products, shall we? My all time favorite foundation, concealer and powder for not only recitals, but just for everyday wear, definitely goes to Maybelline’s Fit Me line. The Fit Me line is set up like a packaged deal. All you have to do is head over to Maybelline’s website to find your perfect Fit Me shade and you’ll be matched with a foundation number, as well as a powder and concealer shade to match! I could go on and on about the reasons why I love this line so much, but to condense the list, I love the fact that these products are long wearing, durable, provide amazing coverage without being cakey and most of all, their shade range is absolutely incredible! Trust me when I say that there is something for everyone!

“The Eyes Have It”
Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, Mascara Favorites

I think my personal favorite part of doing my makeup for recitals is doing up my eyes in a major way! This is where I add all of the glitz, glimmer and glamour. As a matter of fact, when you really think about it, the eyes and the lips are the part of recital makeup that is really the definition of “going all out”! So let’s do it big with these awesome products!

Let’s start with Maybelline’s 24k Nudes Palette. This palette has been around for quite some time and we can totally see why! The colors in this palette are absolutely perfect for creating dramatic, smokey eye looks to hit the stage in. They’re super pigmented and also come in travel friendly packaging! I give this palette a huge thumbs up!

The second and final eye shadow palette that I love is from an online makeup store called Juvia’s Place! I am so OBSESSED with this brand! Not only are the palettes affordable, but the colors in each palette are vivid, pigmented and long wearing. Trust me when I tell you that these colors will not move no matter how many stage lights you’re under. Whatever look you’re trying to create for this recital season, Juvia’s eyeshadows will meet your wildest expectations and then some! They get a solid 10 out of 10!

Lip color is another recital/performance makeup staple! I have to give the number one lipstick spot to the real recital lipstick OG, Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick! I’ve been using this lipstick line for performances for years and it absolutely can’t be beat in my opinion. It’s long lasting, hydrating, super affordable and boy, don’t get me started on the color range! To top it all off, try using NYX’s Suede Matte Lip Liner and you’ve got a show stopping combination!
