Hello dancers and welcome back to From The Top! Today we are adding another installment into our “Love It or Leave It” segment with an in depth review of the Balera Longer Length Shorts! As you all may remember, in November of 2019 we shared a list of our favorite dance products and it is no surprise that the Balera Longer Length Shorts made the list. And though it has already made our list of loves, we want to show these amazing dance shorts a little bit more love and dedicate this segment of “Love It or Leave It” to why we love them so much! I remember grabbing a pair of these shorts when they were first released. I was super fed up with teeny tiny booty shorts that made me regret putting them on during the first 8 counts of a combo. However, discovering these shorts was like stumbling upon a pot of gold and I have been rocking with them ever since. So today, let’s take a look at this product and discuss why you *need* the Balera Longer Length Shorts. Let’s get into it!
Material
One of the things that we love most about the Balera Longer Length Shorts is the material. Made of matte nylon, these shorts are thick, comfortable and 100% NOT see through (hallelujah!) No matter whether you want to wear them with tights or by just themselves, they are extremely accommodative and are a dream come true for dancers who are looking for something more high quality. The fact that they aren’t see through also provides extra security, and if you ask us, personal peace of mind. I mean, let’s be real, no one wants to combre forward and wonder if the whole class can see London and France, am I right?
Comfortability
One of the major elements that I looked forward to when I first purchased these shorts was the possibility of how comfortable they would be. Being they are made at a longer length, I was sure that they would provide more comfortability, the details of such we will get into in our next point. However, I am so happy to say that they are, in fact, one of the most comfortable pairs of dance shorts that I have ever owned, still! The freedom of movement is there completely, and here is the reason why….
The infamous “Ride Up, Inch Down” Factor
Now I’m sure I don’t have to say it, but we all know that booty shorts have one thing in common and that thing is what we here at From The Top like to call the “Ride Up, Inch Down” factor. A lot of dance shorts have the tendency to either ride up your legs as you dance OR inch down lower and lower on your waist. Well I’m here to tell you that this is not a factor with the Balera Longer Length Shorts! The ride up is extremely minimal and they barely ever ride down. As a matter of fact, personally, I don’t think they have ever ridden down on me! This is an extreme plus and ultimately one of the main purposes for the increase in length, I would imagine.
Durability
And finally, let’s talk about durability. As stated in the first point given in this segment, the material of these shorts are excellent! They are made extremely well and that also not only makes for a good product, but for a long lasting product as well. These shorts will last you years, from competition to competition, class after class, and recital after recital. I think that is one of the things that I love the most about these shorts. Through countless floor work, long rehearsal days and many machine washes, these shorts never lose their quality. And that, my friends, is a huge thumbs up!

All in all, these shorts are a must for any and every dancer’s wardrobe. They are a classic staple piece that will never go out of style, which in return makes them timeless. We highly recommend that you all give them a try!
