Holiday Treats Inspired By The Land Of Sweets

Hello and happy Nutcracker season to all! I know that this year’s Nutcracker season is looking rather different, but the one thing that remains is the excitement! So this year, to celebrate this highly anticipated time within the dance world, we decided to share an idea that will work perfectly with both Nutcracker season and lockdown: BAKING! With all of this extra time at home, we thought whipping up something warm and delicious would be the perfect way to spend your time and even add a little Nutcracker twist to your existing routine. So, today we will be sharing with you seven dessert recipes from some of our favorite food bloggers inspired by the “Land Of Sweets” from Act II of The Nutcracker! Not only are these recipes yummy, they also make for the perfect holiday treat. Without further ado, let’s get cookin’, good lookin’!

Spanish Variation – Chocolate

Chocolate Mini Cheesecakes by Sweet Spicy Kitchen

Our first stop on the land of sweets is the Spanish variation, which represents one of my favorite sweets, chocolate! When searching for the perfect recipe to represent this smooth, elegant and sassy dance, we wanted to look for something totally original, decadent and unforgettable. We came across these Chocolate Mini Cheesecakes, all complete with an Oreo crust, by fellow blogger “Sweet Spicy Kitchen” and knew had found the one! The texture of the cream cheese, blended with semi sweet chocolate chips makes for a smooth and rich combination, and the Oreo crust adds just the right “oomph” to the  dessert. All in all, it is the perfect sweet counterpart to this classic dance!

Arabian Variation – Coffee

The Best Ever Coffee Cake by Cookies and Cups

This recipe was so exciting to find because this is my all time favorite dance in the entire Nutcracker ballet! The Arabian piece is known for being as captivating and bold as the sweet it represents: coffee! When looking for a recipe for this dance, we wanted to find something just as elegant and jaw dropping as the Arabian dance, and I don’t know about you, but nothing captivates me more than a good piece of coffee cake! This particular coffee cake from Cookies and Cups is buttery, light and goes perfectly with a nice cup of, you guessed it, coffee!

Chinese Variation – Tea

Cinnamon Vanilla Milk Tea by Brewed Leaf Love

There’s no better way to get warm on a cold day than with a good cup of tea, which is exactly the sweet treat that the Chinese Variation in The Nutcracker represents! This Cinnamon Vanilla Milk Tea by Brewed Leaf Love is described as decadent and frothy, and honestly, that couldn’t be more true!  This tea is everything we didn’t know we needed, and we think that it fits the light and airy energy that the Chinese Variation never fails to give us!
